“Some days I am more wolf than woman, and I am still learning how to stop apologizing for my wild.” -Nikita Gill
*This is an in-person circle on Friday, March 24th @7pm in Toronto, ON. If you are new to The Hearthfire Circles, learn more about them here.
Also named Ostara, after the Germanic goddess of spring, Spring Equinox is a time for celebration of awakened fertility and rebirth. Life is stirring, the heartbeat of the earth mother is quickening, our vitality awakening. Spring is a powerful season of change- time to cast off the heavy cloak of winter and step out- feel the wind in our hair, heed the desires pulsing within and embrace this time of self-actualisation and growth.
This season encourages bravery and authenticity. Taking up the reins of our life and stepping forward can come with self-doubt, fear or sometimes reckless enthusiasm. Spring carries the essence of the Maiden, Trailblazer, Warrior and Wild One. Like a teenager, we may feel anywhere between completely awkward and over-confident as we begin to take some new strides towards growth, shedding an old self in the process.
Luckily, the balance of light and dark of equinox gives us perspective which serves our decision-making power. It shows us what we need to step forward while still honouring our inner needs. It is a good time for clarity and taking action on our dreams.
It is also a great time for getting in touch with our ‘animal instincts’. Our physical body and inner desires can empower us and guide us towards a more authentic existence. Since the beginning of time humans have had a deep relationship with animals and to this day many of us feel a resonance with one in particular or several. Animal allies often show up in our lives to help us get in touch with certain parts of ourselves to help us grow, heal and move forward in positive ways. Perhaps you’ve been seeing an animal in your dreams lately, or spotted one in your waking life that carries a message for you?
In this Hearthfire Circle, we will discuss the themes of the season and go on a guided journey to meet with an animal ally. We will gain insight on how to develop a relationship with this animal energy and move forward into the season with renewed vitality. We will nourish our inner growth with a ritual craft- creating rebirth candle holders!
