About me

Hi, I’m Serena. I’m a Hearthwitch and devotee of Cerridwen, both of which are often symbolised by the cauldron.

The cauldron can be seen as a source of nourishment, inspiration and healing. These are things I seek to express into the world through my craft.

I also feel the cauldron represents the ability to hold space for transformation. This is a skill I have been honing over many years. My training in counselling, social justice, trauma, spiritual healing and sacred space creation give me a strong foundation for helping clients feel safe enough to explore their intuitive, sensitive self. As a highly sensitive person, introvert and empath, I value space in which my sensitivities are honored and I strive to create the same for clients in my Tarot readings, healing sessions and circles.

I am not a psychotherapist or social worker however and stay within my scope of training and experience. You can learn more about my personal code of ethics here.

I’ve identified as a witch for over 15 years, reading Tarot for friends, family and clients over 20 years. Astrology has been a passion and study of mine for a very long time and I weave this knowledge into my practice. Human psychology, healing and the mysteries of the universe have always been part of my life.

My Witch path…

My witch path has mostly been quite eclectic over the years. I started out reading and learning the basics from books by Phyllis Curott & Starhawk. I met a few local witches and joined local covens, mingling and exploring what resonated with me and what didn’t. I found I leaned strongly towards Goddess worship and the Divine Feminine, as I felt that was the energy I resonated with most, and still do today.

After I had my daughter in 2008, my new life as a mom brought me to Hearthwitchery, where I learned how to weave magick into my more mundane home-based duties, healing and caring for my loved ones. This has continued through the years to the present.

In 2013, I studied shamanic healing with Daniel Leonard of the Medicine Circle, which was a very powerful and transformational journey for me. Alongside this, I took a holistic health practitioner training at Transformational Arts College, where I received a strong foundation in aromatherapy, herbalism, Bach flower remedies, energy healing and much more.

I spent several years focusing on Ancient Egyptian magick, devoting myself to Isis, goddess of magick, motherhood and healing. My relationship with Isis was a big part of my womb healing experience as I struggled with endometriosis. The Neteru are still very dear to my heart and spirit.

I have found many earth-based practices benefitted the healing of my womb space and share these practices with clients when applicable.

For several years, I’ve been exploring the Indigenous traditions and history of Turtle Island (North America), the land I walk on. I continue to learn from Indigenous folks, elders and teachers and have been unpacking my own biases and healing ancestral wounding that stems from my own mixed European settler and Indigenous ancestry and history on these lands.

In 2018, I obtained a Social Service Worker with Indigenous Perspectives diploma from Fleming College and did my placement at Native Women’s Resource Centre of Toronto. This experience has influenced my practice today.

More recently, I’ve become focused on learning the Pagan traditions of my Celtic ancestors, especially Welsh witchcraft traditions, answering the call to Cerridwen in the process. I look forward to traveling to Llyn Tegid, her sacred lake in Snowdonia, Wales in the near future.

Random stuff about me…

I’m an Aquarius sun, with Scorpio moon and rising. As an introvert, empath and highly sensitive person, I love people but need a lot of alone time to recharge. I am an INFJ (often coined ‘The Mystic’ or ‘The Counsellor’) in the Myers Briggs system, and a life path 9 (‘The Humanitarian’) in numerology. My Tarot soul card is The Hermit.

My husband and daughter keep me grounded and are my everything. I have 3 amazing feline familiars and love my garden. My favourite ways to spend my free time are hearthcrafting, communing with nature, reading, gardening, travelling to sacred sites, astrology, tarot, and infusing magick into the mundane.

Success! You're on the list.

As a Witch who makes her home and practice in Tkaronto (Toronto) Ontario, I deeply thank the original stewards of this land: The Mississaugas of the Credit, Mississaugas of Scugog, Alderville, Hiawatha & Curve Lake; The Chippewas of Beausoleil, Rama & Georgina island, the Haudenosaunee and Wendat nations. I acknowledge the resilience of the First Nation, Inuit and Metis people who live and work here in the present, in a system of inequity and oppression. I am working on uncolonising my own practice, amplifying Indigenous voices, addressing cultural appropriation in pagan communities and supporting Indigenous communities in whatever way I can.
